Details of installing, upgrading and configuring a Linksys WRT1900ACS. OpenWRT went through a rough patch with developers falling out resulting in a fork called LEDE which was much more actively developed at the time. I therefore switched to LEDE for a time, but the devs managed to resolve their issues and reunified their efforts under OpenWRT so I switched back.
I also have a Zyxel P-2812HNU-F1 and a Frtiz!box 7530 which at some point I may try flashing with OpenWRT.

This can now be done using Wireguard if a sufficiently recent release of OpenWRT is installed.
